Risk and Resilience in the Supply Chain
Bristol Regional Member Event
28 November 2007 10.30am (1 day course)
All members are invited to this event, which promises to be another date not to be missed.
Speakers will discuss the concept of managing risk and building resilience into the supply chain. Practitioners and businesses are becoming increasingly aware that procurement practices need to be resilient if they are to have a long term, positive impact on profitability but many still don’t ‘know’ their supply chain.
Understanding your supply chain is an essential first step in reducing its inherent risks. Weak links in supply chains need to be identified and carefully managed in order to safeguard the supply chain and make it truly robust.
In a climate of greater competition and with an increasing number of firms engaged in outsourcing and low cost sourcing, supply chains have arguably never been more vulnerable.
Through a combination of theory and case studies, this event will explore strategies which can be employed by procurement professionnals to safeguard the supply chain and engender confidence within the business. Can you ever really completely mitigate the risks? What is it that makes a supply chain resilient?
