Consultation responses
Providing grass roots feedback to Government and European Commission Consultations
From time to time, the Government and the European Commission seek responses to their consultation papers. For example, on the latest proposed changes to the EC procurement directives or on best value in local government.
In order to respond to such consultations, our Professional Practice Team convenes groups of interested members to discuss the consultation paper. This allows us to provide a draft response which reflects the needs and experiences of our membership.
The draft response is then circulated to our Policy Advisory Network and other relevant groups. When all inputs have been collated a final response is produced and submitted. This can lead to further dialogue with the committee responsible for the consultation paper, as was the case with the Taskforce on Local Government Procurement (Byatt Report).
A selection of recent submissions, is available for you to review. For further information on any of the submissions please contact professional.practice@cips.org
