The objective of this event will be to identify key insights and trends from the research, provide valuable learning via live case studies, and provide useful recommendations for organisations at all stages of technology adoption.

September function in Newcastle/Hunter Region, 24 September 2008
There will be an evening function for CIPSA members in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley region on Wednesday 24 September. It will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, on the corner of Merewether Street and Wharf Road, Newcastle. Non-members will also be welcome.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Peter Hanna, General Manager, Sourcing and PP Services, at One Steel - the nation’s second largest steel maker. Peter will speak on the establishment of the sourcing function and its setting in an organisation. His talk will include the following topics:
- Aligning sourcing with corporate strategy imperatives
- How to structure sourcing goals with in-business processes
- How to deliver on what is expected
- Leveraging the 3R’s – Roles, Responsibilities and Resourcing
Peter has a substantial practical background in procurement, including sourcing, organisational change and shared services both at BHP and One Steel, when it was spun out of BHP in 2000.
His talk will be a must for all purchasing practitioners.
The function commences at 5.30pm for 6.00pm. You are welcome to invite non-members. Charges are $25.00 for CIPSA members and $35.00 for non-members.
