Introduction to the 2008 CPO Agenda Masterlcass Series

CPO Agenda

CIPS Australia is set to run a series of CPO Agenda Masterclasses throughout the 2008 business season. Aimed at senior level procurement managers, these Masterclasses will address some of the most compelling and intractable issues facing senior procurement professionals in the daily management of their portfolios.

CPO Agenda Masterclasses are run in workshop format with a maximum of 16 delegates in each Masterclass, plus observers. Each Masterclass will be run by a top class facilitator with real expertise in their field who has been invited by CIPSA to facilitate the Masterclass. Delegates are generally invited to attend by CIPSA.  Anyone applying to attend the Masterclasses may first be considered by CIPSA to ensure an appropriate level of experience and seniority.

The ‘workshop’ format design allows for discussion around a new topic with input from other senior  practitioners. Any resulting consensus or viewpoints might offer the right solution for some. Learning from others is part of the Masterclass philosophy.

After attending a CPO Agenda Masterclass, delegates will have a thorough grasp of the real issues surrounding the chosen topic and some real strategies and tactics to take-away and try immediately in the real world office environment of a busy procurement team in a major organisation.

These events also provide an excellent networking opportunity and usually include a semi-formal dinner (or lunch) immediately after the Masterclass to allow delegates to compare approaches and discuss ideas in a free format; often with a relevant guest speaker to prompt further debate.

CPO Agenda Masterclasses are great value and designed to minimise time out of the office and provide a genuine return on investment in terms of both time and money. CPO Agenda is the flagship quarterly magazine published by CIPS in conjunction with Redactive publishing in the UK. It is aimed at senior level procurement managers worldwide and is available at a significantly discounted rate to CIPSA members – simply subscribe online at www.cpoagenda.com
